The 7th and 8th grade students have been working on making barn quilts. The 7th grade boys made one, the 7th grade girls made one, the 8th grade boys made one, and the 8th grade girls made one. Our teacher came up with the idea and she wanted us to make just one with all of us but we decided to to 4 different ones. They are each going on the gala, so that people can buy them and hang them up on their barns. So here are some steps to help you make a barn quilt.
Step 1: Pick a design you want to paint on the board.
Step 2: Get a good size board that you would be able to paint on.
Step 3: Paint a layer of white on your board.
Step 4: After you are done painting the white, Paint a black strip on all four sides about 2 inches.
Step 5: Draw out the design.
Step 6: Pick out the colors you want.
Step 7: Use painter’s tape when you start painting to guide you to paint in the right area.
Step 8: Start with your first color and paint one section at a time.(You may need to apply 2 or more coats of paint when needed.)
TIP: Start with darker colors and then go to lighter colors, or the darker colors may bleed onto the lighter colors.
Step 9: Use more painter’s tape to help guide you in each area and keep painting each section.
Step 10: Touch up any spots that need more paint.
Step 11: Make sure everything is the way you want it to be and give it a name.
Step 12: Hang it up.
We all had a lot of fun doing it! You should try its its a blast.
